The Orange County Water District in Fountain Valley offers guided bird

tours of the Prado Wetlands in Riverside from 7 to 11 a.m. The free tours

will be open to the public by reservation only. An environmental expert

will guide attendees on a 3-mile walk through the wetlands to see such

birds as herons, egrets and several types of raptors. Attendees will

receive a map of the area in advance of the tour and will meet the tour

The Bolsa Chica Conservancy is initiating two bird watching teams to gain

data. Volunteers are needed to assist with two bird-counting tasks: a

twice-a-month bird count at low tide in the Outer Bay of Bolsa Chica by

the Warner Avenue Bridge, and a twice-a-month walk of the beach to

monitor the snowy plovers on the beaches in Sunset Beach and Surfside
