The Angels won a pair of games in Seaview Little League Majors

Division action last week, beating both the Reds and Yankees in a

four-day swing.

In edging the Reds, 2-1, the Angels rallied with a two-run fourth inning

to pull out the win.

A Michael Sheedy home run had given the Reds a 1-0 lead, but Matt

Schoenberger’s RBI double scored brother, John, to tie the score, and

Nick Leone, who had reached base on a walk, scored what turned out to be

the winning run on a Reds error.

John Schoenberger recorded the pitching win, striking out eight. The

Reds’ pitching trio of Cory Kindness, Valle Fluss, and Sheedy combined to

strike out eight and give up just two hits.

Keith Schwaneman and Brandon Shapiro each had two hits to pace the Reds

on offense.

In blanking the Yankees, 2-0, Leone allowed just three hits and struck

out seven on the mound. The Yankees countered with a strong performance

by the tandem of Tyson Laggenbauer and John Ward, who combined to strike

out 11 and limit the Angels to one hit, a single by Nick Bauerschmidt.
