Swimming: Estancia loses twice to Northwood

COSTA MESA - Estancia High’s boys and girls swim team both fell to

visiting Northwood in Pacific Coast League dual meets. The boys lost,

103-65, while the girls were on the short end of a 115-50 score.

David Collier won two races for Estancia’s boys team. Collier won the

200-yard freestyle (2:01.00) and the 500 free (5:44.36) by over a minute.

Freshman Frank Gamboa was the only other individual winner for Estancia,

winning the 200 individual medley in 2:31.10. The Eagles also won both

freestyle relay events.

Lauren Cassity was the only winner for the Eagles’ girls swim team. She

won the 50 freestyle in 26.91. She also finished third in the 100 free

(1:06.70). Her sister, Jennifer Cassity, also had two top three finishes,

a second place in the 100 breaststroke (1:29.96) and third place in the

200 free (2:20.94).
