Israel tour

With a schedule consisting of competition such as Ha’poel Haifa,

Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Tiberias, Maccabi Netanya and Beitar Jerusalem,

among others, Newport Harbor High soccer product Bruce Silverman is

putting together a youth soccer-travel package for boys and girls under

11s, under 13s and under 15s, to represent Southern California Aug.

21-Sept. 3.

Tryouts are April 30 at noon at a site to be determined. Silverman can be

contacted at (714) 838-7071 to confirm the location after Tuesday.

The two-week tour is extensive throughout the region.

The coaching staff consists of Silverman, who went on to play soccer at

San Diego State with coaching experience at Corona del Mar High and

several select teams, Hadar Ziv and Clint Davis. Ziv has an Iraeli soccer

background and Davis is the head soccer coach at Tarbut V’Torah private

school in Irvine.

Depending on airfare, the excursion is expected to cost from

$2,000-$2,200 per person.
