ON THE NEWPORT BEACH CITY COUNCIL AGENDA
Approve amendment to contract with LSA Associates Inc. for Newport
Dunes Resort environmental impact report.
What to expect: The City Council will determine whether to pay an
additional $10,500 to the consultants for extra work they have done in
preparing environmental reports.
The city initially signed on LSA Associates Inc. for $27,500. But the
consultants were on hand to answer questions about the project at several
City Council meetings -- much more than initially predicted -- because it
generated an unusually high amount of public interest.
Confirm the nominations for a vacant spot on the Planning
Commission.
What to expect: In February, the council formed a committee to review 34
applications a vacant seat on the Planning Commission after Richard
Fuller resigned. The committee -- Mayor John Noyes and Councilmen Garold
Adams and Dennis O’Neil -- will announce the nominees.
The council is scheduled to select a commissioner by May 9, 2000.
