Fire officials quickly contained a second-alarm fire that broke out

Wednesday in a large apartment complex on Warner Avenue in Huntington

Beach.

At 10 a.m., the Huntington Beach Fire Department answered a call at Ocean

Breeze Villas in the 6400 block. Within 10 minutes, firefighters snuffed

out the blaze, which began in the kitchen, possibly from the stove,

department spokesman Don Cone said. Three people inside the apartment

suffered from smoke inhalation and were taken to Huntington Beach

Hospital. No one else was hurt.

Cone said damage is estimated at $40,000. Tenants of two neighboring

apartments were also evacuated, but those apartments were not damaged, he

said.
