A Newport Beach-based real estate investment trust recently purchased

Gordon Square, a 100,500-square-foot neighborhood shopping center in

Buena Park.

Donahue Schriber, which owns and operates a number of similar shopping

centers, bought the property for $11.8 million March 31.

Plans for the retail space include extensive renovation, as well as a

27,000-square-foot addition. So far, the shopping center’s retail lineup

includes PetsMart, Blockbuster Video, El Pollo Loco and Kragen Auto

Parts.

In June, a 11,000-square-foot day-care facility will be built on the

property. The renovation and expansion project is expected to be

completed by December.

Donahue Schriber is a private real estate investment trust, founded in

January 1997, that owns and operates 58 neighborhood, community and power

shopping centers in California, Nevada and Arizona.
