NBLL AA: Mariners hammer Cardinals

NEWPORT BEACH - The Mariners used some timely pitching and offense

to upend the first-place Cardinals, 14-6, Tuesday in Newport Beach Little

AA Division action.

Danny Baker and Nico Napolitano each had two hits and a run scored for

the Mariners, while Daniel Dichiro clubbed his first home run of the

season and scored twice.

Daniel Dichiro had a double and three runs scored, while Jeff Jones and

Bradley Hess each had a hit and two runs scored for the Mariners.

On the mound, Jones pitched three scoreless innings with five strikeouts,

while Hess struck out two in his three innings of work.

For the Cards, Michael Bloom had a triple and three RBIs, while Garrett

Meau had a solo home run.

Connor Bannan, Michael Bloom, Tommy Colton and Randall Nelson each

pitched for the Cardinals.
