Goalie Daniel Ane stopped 19 shots Friday and his offense backed

his defensive play by scoring three goals as the Hurricanes blanked the

Kings, 3-0, in a Campbell Division contest played at Coast 2 Coast Inline

Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The Hurricanes scored what turned out to be the only goal Ane would need

when Sammy Lopez-hidalgo scored off an Ashleigh Wood assist in the

opening period.

Lopez-hidalgo also scored an unassisted goal in the second quarter, and

in the final quarter, Ryan Ward set up an Austin Raban goal to close out

the scoring.

Despite the loss, Kings goalie Cody Schlegel stopped 15 shot attempts.

Destiny Mills slapped home three goals and also assisted another score as

the Thrashers held off the Red Wings. Ryan Kalama and Conner Parks also

had goals for the Thrashers.

Christian Rakhshani scored the first two goals for the Red Wings, and

James Newman picked up the other goal and an assist.

Menehune 2, Sharks 1

Two third period goals, one by Cody Ferrer, the other by Shaina Denny off

a Ferrer assist, lifted Menehune from a 1-0 deficit to victory. Kevin

Lassen scored unassisted for the Sharks. Both goalies turned in big

games, with Menehune’s Brian Daigneault recording 17 saves, and the

Sharks’ Nicholas Capriccio stopping 19 shot attempts.
