Actor/Author Thomas Prosser will take on the role of Ernest Hemingway in

“The Lost Generation,” a one-man performance at 7 p.m. at Borders Books,

Music & Cafe. Prosser, author of “Naked Hemingway,” will provide a

humorous and personal look at Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude

Stein and many other post-World War I generation literary fanatics.

Afterward, Prosser will be available for questions and book signings.

Eat food and drink wine! The Philharmonic Society will present “Symphony

of Wines” from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Sheraton Newport Beach Hotel. The event

will feature a variety of fine wines from around the world, entertainment

and a silent auction. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Blue Water

Grill, The Bungalow Restaurant, Sage Restaurant and Zucchero Ristorante.

While strolling down Marine Avenue on Balboa Island, stop by Graphics

Gallery and check out the works of Zoe Hadley in “Personal Reflections.”

When you do, say hi to gallery owner Michael Zschoche, whose sense of

humor is almost as fun as his last name. A reception with the artist will

be held from 6 to 9 p.m. May 12. Graphics Gallery is at 219 Marine Ave.,

The Gypsy Den and Reading Room at Lab Anti-Mall will present music and

performance poetry at 8 p.m. in “The Diva & The Debauche,” which features

poet T.S. Kerrigan and musical soloist Bonita Nahoum Jaros. The Lab is at
