Football: 2000 schedule out for OCC

COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College football schedule is has been

made as the Pirates return to the Southern Division of the Mission

Conference.

With the return comes the renewed rivalry with Golden West. The Rustlers

and Pirates clash Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at OCC.

The Pirates will take on teams from the Central Division for the first

five contests. That was the division where OCC competed for two seasons.

The Pirates will open the season at home against Riverside Sept. 9 at 7

p.m. before hosting Saddleback on Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. in the season finale.

OCC finished the 1999 season with a record of 4-6, 2-3 in conference,

under first-year coach Mike Taylor.

2000 FOOTBALL SEASON

Sept. 9 - Riverside at OCC, 7 p.m.

Sept. 16 - OCC at Long Beach City, 7 p.m.

Sept. 23 - El Camino at OCC - 1 p.m.

Sept. 30 - OCC at Mt. San Antonio, 6 p.m.

Oct. 7 - OCC at Pasadena City, 7 p.m.

Oct. 14 - BYE WEEK

Oct. 21 - Golden West at OCC, 7 p.m.

Oct. 28 - Palomar at OCC, 1 p.m.

Nov. 4 - OCC at Santa Ana, 1 p.m.

Nov. 11 - OCC at Fullerton, 1 p.m.

Nov. 18 - Saddleback at OCC, 1 p.m.
