NBLL AA - Mariners, Red Sox end in stalemate

NEWPORT BEACH - The Red Sox and Mariners battled for six innings,

but ended in an 11-11 tie last weekend in Newport Beach Little League AA

Division action last weekend.

Trailing by four in the top of the sixth inning, the Mariners scored six

runs to take the lead, capped off by a Sam French grand slam.

In the bottom of the inning, key hits by Danny Dewees and Tom Bangert

rallied the Red Sox.

Bangert and Brian Hurst each had two hits and scored two runs to lead the

Red Sox.

Eric Chebil and Travis Jones each had a double and a run scored for the

Mariners.

In other AA Division action:

Mets 12, Dodgers 6 - The Mets scored eight runs in the final two innings

for a comeback win over the Dodgers.

After the Dodgers jumped out to a 6-4 lead, Michael Borchard pitched two

scoreless innings for the Mets, keeping the game close.

Jake Killian had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored, while Grant

Keligran, Andrew Fulcher and Beau Attyah each had two RBIs.

Mets 10, Mariners 7 - Andrew Fulcher had a single, double and three runs

scored to lead the Mets over the Mariners.

Michael Katz and Nick Brower each had two RBIs, while Grant Keligran and

Jake Killian each had two runs scored.
