Indians wrap up first half title
The Indians claimed the first half championship in the Huntington
Valley Little League Minor A Division race Thursday by beating the Mets,
9-5.
A balanced attack by the Indians included key hits from Clayton
Prestridge, Karcher Morris, Sean King, Daniel Toledo, Ryan Heberden, and
Andy Patalsky.
For the Mets, Liam McGinn, Race Parmenter, and Kyle Ammons doubled, while
Paul McBeth and Alex Barnes added singles.
In other games:
Rangers 16, Yankees 14
Josh Herrera and Alex Holtz each tripled among two hits and Christopher
Ottens, Travis Camarena, and Adrian Sanchez each went 2 for 3.
The Yankees, who staged a nine run rally in the sixth inning only to fall
two runs short, received a single and double from Skye Pronier, a double
from Tommy Hennekam, and two hits each from Terin Marlatt, Spencer Mauro,
and Dane Sierra.
Cardinals 10, Marlins 8
Adam Cutts went 2 for 3 with three RBI, Kyle Shibel, Nick Becker, and
Eric Smith each had an RBI, Tanner Phillips went 3 for 4, and Brian
Giannone went 2 for 3.
Trevor Pagenkopp hit an RBI double, and Erik Morentin, Tyler Paul, Luke
Patrick, and Justin Draeger each had an RBI single to lead the Marlins.
