Boys golf: CdM fifth at CIF

CHINO - Corona del Mar High’s boys golf team was tied for fifth

place at the CIF Southern Sectional South Regional Monday at Los Serranos

Country Club’s North course, par 72.

The Sea Kings and Esperanza both shot 386 to conclude a season where CdM

came back from last year’s 0-10 league season to claim the Pacific Coast

League co-championship this year with University. Long Beach Wilson won

the tournament with a 371.

Innes MacDonald and Joe Kwon had the lowest scores for the Sea Kings with

a 75. Chris Franta shot a 76, John Kwon a 79 and Nick Sherman an 81 to

score for CdM. Manuel Fernandez scored an 85 as the Sea Kings’ sixth

golfer.

John Kwon qualified for the CIF individual tournament, which starts next

Monday.
