COSTA MESA - There were plenty of familiar names on this year’s

All-Orange Empire Conference baseball team.

Golden West College’s Ty Harper (Corona del Mar High) was a first-team

selection at first base. He 81 hits and 19 doubles led the OEC, while his

.455 batting average and 63 RBIs were second in the conference.

Orange Coast College first baseman and a teammate of Harper at CdM, Eric

Wiethorn, was a second-team selection. He was third on the team with a

.339 batting average and was in the top-three in hits (56), runs (37),

RBIs (42), doubles (13) and home runs (9).

Pirate sophomore Adam Anderson (.338 batting average, 35 runs, 51 hits,

29 RBIs) joins Wiethorn on the second-team infield., while Jason Reuss

(.303, 12 HRs, 43 RBIs) and Chris Laws (.378, 53 hits, eight stolen

bases, 11 doubles), were second-team selections in the outfield.

Former CdM pitcher Matt Larson (4-5, 7.63 ERA, 56 strikeouts) was a

second-team selection as a starting pitcher for the Rustlers.
