NBLL Majors: Braves blank Diamondbacks

NEWPORT BEACH - The Braves used some solid pitching to defeat the

Diamondbacks, 3-0, last weekend in Newport Beach Little League Majors

Division action.

Pitchers Evan Zoller and Tyler Ellis combined to toss a one-hitter for

the Braves, walking only one, while striking out 12.

James Gray went 2 for 2 with a run scored, while Zak Warsaw added a hit

and an RBI for the Braves.

For the D-Backs, Hunt Rychel pitched five strong innings, allowing only

two hits.

In other Majors Division action:

Red Sox 11, Braves 11 - The Braves battled back from a 6-1 deficit to tie the Red Sox.

James Gray drove in two runs and stole home for the game-tying run, while

Andrew Dialynas had a double and a single for the Braves.

Jordan Taormina reached base four times and had two RBIs. The game will

be completed later in the season.

Braves 10, Mariners 5 - Evan Zoller, Tyler Ellis and Thomas Dialynas

combined to allow two earned runs on three hits for the Braves.

Paul Knezivic was 2 for 2 with a triple, single and one RBI, while Jordan

Taormina added an RBI double.

Ryan Wess, Zak Warsaw and Dialynas each came through with key hits.

Diamondbacks 7, Mariners 1 - Scott Colton pitched a complete game to lead

the D-Backs over the Mariners.

Wyatt Cole, Shawn Maxwell, Gavin Ball, James Ball and Hunt Rychal each

had key hits for the D-Backs.

For the Mariners, Conner Ferguson, Jonathan Krooph and Jamie McGee each

had solid hits.

Giants 3, Yankees 2 - Jamie Kline singled in the winning run to lead the

Giants over the Yankees.

Tom Money pitched four strong innings, allowing no hits, while striking

out nine, while Phillip Bannan pitched the final four innings, striking

out five for the Giants.

For the Yankees, Matt Hauser knocked in both runs in the fifth inning

with a key single.
