What had been a tight, seesaw battle Thursday between the Angels

and Diamondbacks, turned into a blowout for the Halos, who used a seven

run outburst in the top of the ninth inning to come away with a 14-7

victory in Seaview Little League Majors Division play.

Nearly every Angel got into the act offensively, with Frankie Mead

leading the way with a double, triple, and two RBI, and Michael Hensley

getting three hits and two RBI.

Other big hitters for the Angels included Sean Lavenau with a single and

double, Damion Loukas with a triple and single, Doug Brantley with an RBI

single, and Ricky Pineda with two base hits.

The Angels’ rally in the ninth wiped out a nice comeback by the

Diamondbacks, who had themselves rallied with two runs in the bottom of

the sixth inning to force extra innings.

Derek Demun had two hits and three RBI, Jon Van Dyke finished 3 for 4

with a double and RBI, Jenna Balester went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Eddie

Clark and Randy Casillan each doubled to lead the D-backs.
