Corona del Mar Plaza honored for innovative design

The Irvine Co., in conjunction with the architectural firm Altevers

Associates, announced that Corona del Mar Plaza has been awarded a

Certificate of Merit by the International Council of Shopping Centers.

The plaza was one of 15 recipients honored in the “Innovative Design and

Construction of a New Project” category. It beat out entries received

from around the world.

Corona del Mar Plaza was recognized at a breakfast at this week’s 2000

International Council of Shopping Centers’ spring convention in Las

Vegas.

The plaza will be featured in the upcoming edition of the council’s

publication, “Winning Shopping Center Designs 2000.”
