It only happens once a year, and now it’s time to pay the (bag)piper. The

United Scottish Society’s 68th annual Scottish Festival will begin today

at the Orange County Fairgrounds, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. The event

will include a traditional ceremony with music and dancing. The festival

will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. Admission is $14 for

adults; $12 for seniors 65 and older and students; and $2 for children

It’s the end of “The Beginning of August,” a modern-day comedy that will

conclude its world-premiere run at South Coast Repertory with shows at 2

“Major Art/Minor Artists,” an exhibit featuring artwork by elementary

school students, is on display at The Orange County Museum of Art at

South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9

p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to
