NBLL AA: Cardinals sneak past Mets

NEWPORT BEACH - Randall Nelson’s game-winning hit propelled the

Cardinals past the Mets, 10-9, in the Newport Beach Little League AA

Division playoff semifinals.

Nelson’s hit brought in Chrisco Elliott with the winning run, sending the

Cards to the championship game, where they will face the Diamondbacks.

Michael Bloom had a three-run triple, while Garrett Meau, Chase Stark and

Scott Frazier each added key Cardinal hits.

Bloom and Connor Bannon each pitched well for the Cards, while Ryan Akiba

and Otis Mitchell III led the defense.

For the Mets, Michael Katz, Zak Maurer and Michael Borchard each pitched

well, while Jake Killian, Andrew Legay, Grant Kelgram, Andrew Fulcher and

Beau Attayah sparked the offense.
