The Temptations, whose Motown harmonies and fluid dance moves spawned

hits such as “Just My Imagination,” “My Girl” and “The Way You Do the

Things You Do,” will be at the Orange County Performing Arts Center today

and Saturday.

The group will appear with the Pacific Symphony Pops. The first part of

the program will feature the symphony’s salute to the Olympics and music

from “The Cider House Rules,” among other pieces.

The Temptations will be featured in the second half of the show.

Founder Otis Williams will sing with the current incarnation of the

Temptations, which includes first tenor Ron Tyson, baritone Barrington

Henderson, first/second tenor and baritone Terry Weeks and bass Harry

McGilberry.

The shows will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $23 to $54; student/senior

rush tickets are $14 and may be purchased at the center’s box office at

6:30 p.m. the night of the performance only. Tickets may be purchased

SCR is ’72 Degrees and Sunny’

The Jr. Teen Players of South Coast Repertory’s Young Conservatory

advanced acting program will stage “72 Degrees and Sunny” at the theater

this weekend.

The play -- written by Kristina Leach and directed by Hilary Russell

Bauer -- focuses on a moment frozen in time that allows junior high

students to see their peers in a new way.

The cast members: Lauren Bennett, Juliane Caillouette, Ashley Chung,

Jessi DeNaut, Tyler Erwin, Connor Ficcadenti, Nicole Gross, James

Gubersky, Megan Gust-Cross, Dave Honigman, Alex Huber, Carly Menkin,

Melinda Migdall, Trevin Miller and Nathaniel Roberts.

“72 Degrees and Sunny” will be performed at 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday and

Sunday on the Second Stage, 655 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. Tickets
