Kids Talk Back

With summer vacation just weeks away, we asked Costa Mesa High School
students what their ideal summer job would be.
“My job would be something that brings in a lot of money, but doesn’t
require a lot of work. But since we are moving this summer, I don’t have
to get a job.”
STEVEN ERRICO, 15
Freshman, Costa Mesa
“I already work for Whole Foods Market. I’ve been employed for the past
11 months. I really like it. I get to work in the different departments.
It’s fun. I’m saving my money for college and a car.”
VICTOR GARCIA, 19
Senior, Costa Mesa
“Something outdoors that pays a lot of money, but requires little effort.
I’d work five days a week. I’d spend the money right away, probably on
food, CDs, clothes and makeup.”
KATRYNA ANGLE, 14
Freshman, Costa Mesa
“My ideal job would be working at Rampage clothing store in South Coast
Plaza. They have the cutest clothes. But legally, I can’t work until I’m
18. That’s why it’s my dream job and not a reality.”
ANGELA GRISHAM, 15
Freshman, Costa Mesa
“My ideal job would be shopping for other people. Probably wardrobe. I’d
work five days a week. What’s bad about shopping five days a week?”
NICOLE AYLWARD, 15
Freshman, Costa Mesa
