TRIBUTE

This is a tragic loss for the arts in Orange County, and our hearts go

out to the entire Segerstrom family and particularly to Henry Segerstrom

because we know she was the special joy in his life (“Arts patron Renee

Segerstrom dies,” June 8.

Renee provided her gracious, organizational leadership to The Center

in numerous capacities throughout the years. She was a Founder of the

Angels of the Arts and cochaired The Center’s tremendously successful

yearlong 10th Anniversary Gala Celebration in 1996. For many years, Renee

lent her creative talents and appreciation of the visual arts by serving

as chair of the art committee for The Center’s board of directors. As The

Center made plans to build a new concert hall at the Segerstrom Center

for the Arts, I was delighted that Renee accepted my invitation to serve

on the building committee for this important project.

We will all fondly remember the extraordinary intellect, the inspiring

grace and the numerous accomplishments of this remarkable woman. And the

joie-de-vivre that she brought to everything she did will always be

cherished.

ROGER T. KIRWAN

Chairman

The Orange County Performing Arts Center’s Board of Directors
