Stars trip Blackhawks, 5-2

Dayne Fujiwara scored his team’s first three goals to lead the

Stars in a 5-2 victory over the Blackhawks in Norris Division play at

Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Fujiwara’s goals gave the Stars a 3-0 lead through two quarters of play

and he assisted the next Stars goal, a score by Kyle Fiscus.

Scott Cassidy scored the final Stars goal and also led the team with

three assists.

Sam Slosman and Jordan Simpson both scored and Craig Landon and Cody

Merrick each had an assist for the Blackhawks.

In other games:

Blue Devils 3, Small Soldiers 2

Chase Obenauer’s goal in the final period proved to be the difference for

the Blue Devils, who also received single goals by Daniel Ane and Max

McCourt.

Ross Harper scored once with an assist, Dylan Nelson scored once, and

Donovan Gonzalez added an assist for the Small Soldiers.

Lightning 8, Bulldogs 5

Richie Unfried scored two goals and had three assists, Brett Shaver

scored twice with one assist, Bradley Kachigan scored once with two

assists, Alex Loeffelman scored twice, and Nicholas Weldon scored once

for the Lightning.

Kyle Evans scored twice with an assist and Lance Unrau, Damian Raburn,

and Allison Dufault each scored once for the Bulldogs.

Thunderblades 3, Masters 3

In overtime, Robby Johnson scored for the Thunderblades and the Masters’

Trevor Horton matched Johnson with a score of his own as the teams fought

to a standstill. Eric Grant and Joshua Gane also scored and goalie Luke

Gane stopped 26 shots for the Thunderblades. Jasa Denny scored twice and

goalie Jamie Schlegel had 21 saves for the Masters.
