ISSUE: DIGITAL HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM

Vote: 5-0

Summary: The board of trustees agreed Wednesday to apply for the Digital

High School technology grant program for Fountain Valley, Valley View and

Ocean View high schools. Edison and Coast high schools already have the

program in place, and Huntington Beach, Marina and Westminster high

schools are approved for funding.

ISSUE: NEW TEXTBOOKS

Vote: 4-1, with trustee Matthew Harper dissenting

Summary: The board voted to get new basic textbooks for students. The

30-day period for parents and staff to review the books has concluded.

ISSUE: OCEAN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL AQUATICS

Vote: 4-1, with Harper dissenting

Summary: The board agreed to allow Ocean View High School to seek a

corporate partnership agreement to help fund an aquatics facility on

campus.

ISSUE: ELECTRICAL UPGRADE

Vote: 5-0

Summary: The board voted to file a notice of completion for the

electrical upgrades at Edison High School.

ISSUE: HUNTINGTON BEACH HIGH SCHOOL POOL

VOTE: 5-0

SUMMARY: The anticipated income to build the pool will not be reached by

the Foundation Trust Fund/Huntington Beach High Pool Project this fiscal

year. The board approved a resolution to change the pool’s budget by

decreasing income and expenditures to $42,888 for the fiscal year

1999-2000.
