At the last Fountain Valley School District meeting, trustee Tony McCombs

reminded the other board members that summer was approaching and

suggested the staff wear their casual summer attire at the next meeting.

Trustee Judy Edwards pointed out that it’s usually the men who really

take advantage of not having to wear a suit and tie.

“Yes, Tony and I are going to show up in our bathing suits and thong,”

trustee Robert Sedlack quipped.

Shaking before flooding

Huntington Beach resident John Mastright said making flood insurance

mandatory is unfair to residents because of the 100-year flood threat

will probably never occur in Huntington Beach.

“There will be an earthquake first,” he said.

Patriot on paradeThough the city of Fountain Valley is not planning

to do anything special for the Fourth of July, they are getting into the

holiday spirit in Huntington Beach, City Manager Ray Kromer said.

Mayor Guy Carrozzo’s “appearing on a float in the Huntington Beach

parade,” Kromer said.

Carrozzo is known for his passion for patriotism.
