The 50th annual Huntington Beach Open Rough Water Pier Swim will be

held Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m.

The first race will feature the following divisions: men’s (ages 16-24);

senior men (25-31); women (16-24); senior women (25-31); masters men

(32-29); grand masters men (40-49); masters women (32-39); grand masters

women (40-49); super masters men (50-59); super masters women (50-59);

and ultra masters men (60 and over).

The second race, which will begin at approximately 9:45 a.m., will

feature junior men (12-15) and junior women.

Trophies will be awarded for the top three finishers in each division,

with the Gene Belshe Memorial Trophy going to the winning team and a

trophy to the first Huntington Beach male and female finishers.

The event, one of the first regular ocean swims of the year, attracted

more than 100 contestants last year.

Late entries ($12) for this year’s event will be accepted between 8-8:30

a.m. only on race day.
