HB Surf wins another title

HB Surf has done it again.

Winners of three consecutive seasonal championships, HB Surf added

another title to its collection Saturday, this time by defeating LBZ,

4-3, to win the Mite Club Division crown at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey

Center in Huntington Beach.

Chad Ramsey scored two goals, including the game-winner in the third

period, Shane Lakes and Michael Mongelli each scored once, Kevin Lachman

had an assist and goalie Eric Morejon recorded 19 saves to lead HB Surf.

Michael Mendez scored once with an assist, Brad Barber and Travis Wear

each scored once, Jeffrey Deutchmann had an assist, and goalie Paul

Anderson had 24 saves for LBZ.

SQUIRT CLUB

Elmos 9, Sabres 3

Scotty Locken scored three goals and had two assists, Kenny Gibo scored

twice with an assist, Kyle Zantos and Jonathan Gibo each had a goal and

assist, and Tanner Riley had two assists for the Elmos.

Adam Cardwell scored twice, Adam Springer scored once, and goalie Dustin

Nowick stopped 28 shot attempts for the Sabres.

PEEWEE CLUB

US Marshalls 6, Leprechauns 4

Tim Kraus scored three goals, Derrick Burnett scored once with two

assists, and Salem Stephens handed out four assists to lead the US

Marshalls.

Rhett Rakhshani scored once with two assists, Richard Leitner and Cameron

Cepek both scored once with an assist, and Scooter Vaughan added a goal

for the Leprechauns.

BANTAM CLUB

Oilers 10, Burnt Biscuits 9

Daryn Katzen topped all scorers with four goals, Jason Katzen scored

twice with an assist, Todd Newsome scored twice with an assist, and Niki

Kollar scored once with two assists to lead the Oilers.

Parker Ito scored three goals and had an assist, Adam Freede scored twice

with three assists, Billy Stretch scored twice with an assist, and Trevor

Zantos and Joshua Walker each scored once with an assist for the Burnt

Biscuits.

ATOM CLUB

Flyers 9, Vipers 7

Paul Anderson scored four goals with an assist, Erick Anderson scored

twice, and Phillip Lyons dished out three assists for the Flyers.

Travis Wear scored three goals, David Wear scored twice with an assist,

and Tyler Lakes scored twice for the Vipers.

CAMPBELL DIVISION

Thrashers 2, Red Wings 2

Conner Parks’ third period score off a John Aldinger feed lifted the

Thrashers into a tie with the Red Wings. Sean Easton scored unassisted in

the first quarter, and goalie D.J. Mihalik had 17 saves for the Thrashers.
