Letter of the Week
Just a minute!
Your editorial of congratulations on the passing of the school bonds is
somewhat off kilter (“Bond vote was a good and noble thing,” June 8).
When 80% of the qualified voters don’t even bother to go to the polls,
there is more to the story than school bond passing. Voter apathy is a
far greater concern in local, state and federal elections than any one
local ballot initiative.
Why have so many potential voters elected to turn the decision making
over to so few! Some serious discussions on that issue should be a
first-order priority.
