Newport Beach advertising agency Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder captured eight

awards -- four golds and four silvers -- at this year’s Golden Advocate

Awards. The annual competition is sponsored by the Healthcare Public

Relations & Marketing Assn. and recognizes the best in health care

communications.

Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder won awards for a direct mail piece and a

corporate video created for Second Harvest Food Bank; a corporate

brochure on behalf of AIDS Walk Orange County; and an advertising

campaign for Planned Parenthood. Silver awards were presented to the

agency for state Department of Health Services campaigns.

The agency’s creative team included Bruce Mayo and Lynda Lawrence,

co-creative directors; Claudia Ponder, producer; Simone Beaudoin, art

director; Rick Underwood, Laurie Campbell and Judy Devine, copywriters;

and Ellen Laning and Gary Fredrickson, designers.
