Huntington Beach Tomorrow

Although [Bob] Polkow is entitled to his opinion [“Budget housing

decision criticized,” July 6], he misses the point of Huntington Beach

Tomorrow’s objections to the single-room occupancy project. Huntington

Beach Tomorrow recognizes the need for such projects. However, this

particular project was opposed because of parking, traffic and

compatibility issues.

Orange County’s report on single-resident occupancy siting and

construction clearly demonstrates how flawed this project was. Polkow has

vilified Huntington Beach Tomorrow but said nothing about the Planning

Commission and City Council, who both voted down the project.

If Polkow believes that Huntington Beach Tomorrow is somehow pulling

strings at City Hall, he is sadly misinformed.
