COSTA MESA -- Lottery officials are still waiting for the person

holding a $21-million winning lottery ticket, bought at the Water Shop,

to come forward.

The lottery ticket matched all six numbers of the California Lottery’s

Super Lotto jackpot, including the Meganumber.

The winning numbers drawn Saturday night are 23-30-34-43-46 and the

Meganumber is 13.

The winner, who chose the cash option at the time the ticket was

purchased, stands to receive about $10 million -- minus the 28% that the

federal government will withhold, said Norma Minas, a spokeswoman for the

California Lottery.

When the cash-out option is selected, the winner stands to gain about

half of the jackpot, minus the state’s cut, in one lump sum.

Bich Tran, the owner of the Water Shop on Fairview Road and Baker

Street, will receive about $110,000 for selling the winning ticket. She

could not be reached for comment Monday.

The holder of the winning ticket has 180 days before it expires and

the cash goes to public education, she said.

On July 6, a $25-million ticket with a cash-out option expired, Minas

said. That will mean about $12.5 million for public education in

California.

“If someone buys a ticket and doesn’t claim it, we turn the money over

to the state controller, who turns it over to the state Department of

Education,” Minas said. “It’s distributed based on ADA, or attendance

figures for grades kindergarten through university.”
