Local swim club makes a splash

Seal Beach Swim Club held its annual rough water swim last

Saturday, and several Huntington Beach residents gave strong performances

at the Seal Beach Pier.

Winning the girls 9-10 Division was Alexis Schauer, with Lindsey

Buchbinder finishing third overall. The pair later teamed with another

local, Kamalie Mahuna’alli to win the 9-10 relay swim.

In the girls 13-14 Division, Kerri Weisenthal placed third.

In the boys competition, Tristan Friend was a second place finisher in

the 11-12 Division, and later swam up a division and helped teammates

Rory Bevins and Tianni Mahuna’alli swim to first place finish in the

13-14 Division relay swim.

Other local swimmers competing included Hugh Bevins, Bernadette

Bevins, Brendan Friend, and Deanna Quant.
