Before his regal coronation as the exalted lord high mayor,

The scheming Garofalo made his move as a local player.

Every development ‘fore the council, each grosser than the last,

His approval was ready, and all projects got passed,

While the conflicts were ignored by the HB dragon slayer.

What did he sell and when, became the rally cry.

But hardly a word came forward from the public service guy.

“I didn’t sell a thing, except to my friend Laird.”

But little proof was offered and fewer facts were shared.

“Forget the money for the house, I only made a buck.”

“It’s all just a conspiracy to drag me through the muck.”

But he got goosed by [Debbie] Cook,

And Political Practices is having a look.

So all good folk be patient, for he’ll waffle and he’ll duck.

But Dave’s not in this mess singly.

There’s Laird and Pearson and Inglee.

They all seek obfuscation
