Flames double up on Scorpions, 6-3

Six players got into the scoring act Monday night, and goalie Sam

Robinson turned in a big performance, as the Flames posted a 6-3 victory

over the Scorpions in a Smythe Division contest played at Coast 2 Coast

Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The Flames, who outscored the Scorpions, 2-1, in each of the three

periods, received single goals from Joshua Austin, Bradley Brandenberg,

Jeffrey Andrews, David Taylor, Kian Rhodes, and Jamie Schlegel.

Robinson had a busy night in the net with 32 saves.

Matt Gattis, Travis Benson, and Adam Lamotte all scored for the

Scorpions, and goalie Kevin Fronk recorded 28 saves.

In other games:

Snipers 11, Sabres 4

Craig Chorpenning scored four goals, Chas Plimpton scored three goals

and had an assist, Eric Grant, Kyle Steinbeck (assist), and Andrew

Jackson each scored once, and goalie Mark Kosko had 19 saves to lead the

Snipers.

Nathan Sutton, Nicholas Capriccio, Spenser Ono, and Kourtney Kunichika

all scored for the Sabres, while goalie Garrett Ono turned back 33 shot

attempts.

Thunderblades 6, Timberwolves 5

Chase Obenauer and Danielle Miller both scored in overtime to lift the

Thunderblades to the victory. Luke Gane scored twice with an assist, and

Matthew Inouye and William DeWitt added single goals for the winners.

Jordan Wallace scored four times and added an assist, Michael Mowrey

and Jacob Schnautz each scored once, and goalie Amber Gibson stopped 41

shot attempts for the Timberwolves.
