Blades slash past Swiss Army Chalupas, 10-3

The Blades broke away from a first period tie with the Swiss Army

Chalupas Tuesday by scoring nine goals over the final two quarters of

play and went on to collect a 10-3 victory in Lemieux Division play at

Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Tamir Hussein scored the first of his match-high three goals in the

opening period to put the Blades into a 1-1 tie with the Swiss Army

Chalupas, whose opening goal came off the stick of Gregory Rizza. But

goals by Matt Carter, Kyle Sabraw, Kevin McMahon, and Christopher Lincoln

in the second quarter put the Blades in command at 5-2.

They put the game out of reach in the third period, with Hussein

starting and ending the quarter with goals, sandwiching scores by Kris

Ehret, Lincoln, and Matthew Sandoval.

McMahon also led the Blades with four assists, and goalie Casey

Becking recorded 29 saves.

For the Swiss Army Chalupas, single goals also went to Christopher

Emerson and Liam O’Halloran.

Chuckleheads 7, Renegades 6

Marc Lopez scored three goals and added an assist, Chad Pelliccioni

scored twice with an assist, Matt Walker scored once and had three

assists, Marissa Castle scored once, and goalie Jeremy Nelson stopped 25

shot attempts to lead the Chuckleheads.

Stanley Vanden Brink and Brian Ayala posted three goals apiece,

John-Michael McNulty dished out two assists, and goalie Cliff Smith had

25 saves.

Rolling Rebels 7, Lightning 1

Kyle McLeod scored two goals and had an assist to lead the Rolling

Rebels.
