* West 19th Street: An unsuspecting Smart & Final customer left her

car’s sunroof open in the parking lot Aug. 5 while shopping. The car was

vandalized. Taken at about 3:15 p.m. was a satchel that included a

checkbook and cell phone valued at $646.

* West Ocean Front: Someone who apparently didn’t hear about the

passing of Grateful Dead vocalist Jerry Garcia called a residence in the

600 block approximately 600 times asking for him Wednesday and Thursday.

* MacArthur Court: Someone working in the 4600 block was also the

target of annoying telephone calls between Monday and Wednesday.
