Blades edge Extreme, 4-3

Matt Carter scored off a Tamir Hussein assist with 22 seconds

remaining in regulation play Tuesday night to lift the Blades to a 4-3

victory over Extreme in a Lemieux Division contest played at Coast 2

Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The Blades took a 3-1 lead into the final quarter of play, only to see

Extreme draw even (3-3) on goals by Matt Landon (assist to Philip

Churchward) and David Lachman, who scored the tying goal off a Landon

feed.

Landon also scored Extreme’s first goal off Lachman’s first period

assist.

Hussein scored twice to lead the Blades, while Matthew Sandoval scored

once.

Blades goalie Cliff Smith recorded 21 saves, and Extreme goalie Casey

Becking stopped 20 shot attempts.

In other games:

Chuckleheads 8, Extreme 6

Extreme dropped its second match of the night just two hours later, as

Chad Pelliccioni scored four goals and had two assists to lead the

Chuckleheads.

Jessen Zimmerman, Scott Taucher, Marc Lopez, and Matt Walker each

scored once, Zimmerman and Brad Bruce each had three assists, and goalie

Chuck Bruce had 10 saves, for the winners.

Philip Churchward had two goals and an assist, David Lachman scored

once with an assist, Tyson Spataro, Matt Landon, and Warren Runk each

scored once, and goalie Virgil De Los Reyes had 26 saves for Extreme.

Renegades 6, Swiss Army Chalupas 3

Brian Ayala scored three goals and had an assist, David Kirchner

scored twice, John-michael McNulty scored once with an assist, and goalie

Cliff Smith had 23 saves.

Christopher Emerson scored twice, Liam O’Halloran scored once, and

Macsun Frederick had two assists for the Swiss Army Chalupas.
