Parsons Street: Unable to fit through the peep hole, someone climbed
through the kitchen doggy door of a home in the 2100 block and stole a
black Epiphone limited-edition Elvis Presley-model guitar valued at
$1,000 and a $100 amplifier between 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Wednesday

Balboa Boulevard: Plans to impress a hot date with an expensive bottle
of Moet wine were foiled for the person trying to pass off a counterfeit
$50 bill at the Balboa Market in the 600 block at 3:37 p.m. on Thursday
West 18th Street: Someone with false evidence of registration tried to
claim a vehicle impounded from the 900 block at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday
MacArthur Boulevard: Somebody, tired of running up their own credit
cards with computer items, decided to steal $1,468 worth of disks from a
locked cabinet at Staples in the 4300 block between 12:30 and 1:15 p.m.
Tuesday.
Main Street/Ocean Front: A vacationer from New York was surprised when
his backpack was stolen from the Balboa Pier around 6 p.m. Tuesday as he
took in the view through one of the telescopes. His trip was
inadvertently extended because his return airline ticket was in the bag
along with $360 worth of items.
