Yachts of Yesteryear

Dear Readers:

It has been a pleasure writing the stories of “Yachts of Yesteryears”

during the past 30 weeks. The favorable comments that I have received are

greatly appreciated.

We now have compiled the stories of 27 of these yachts into a 60-page

book entitled “The Large Yachts of Newport Harbor Before World War II.”

This book, which contains 52 photos, is now available for sale at The

Newport Harbor Nautical Museum for $15. The book and the column, “Yachts

of Yesteryear,” have been an all-volunteer effort. The proceeds from the

sale of the book will benefit the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum.

Using a nautical farewell, which is used when a ship departs on an

extended voyage, I say:
