TEMPORARY CLASSROOM

The Planning Commission is scheduled to consider an extension request

for a temporary classroom building at Kline School on Magnolia Street.

The property owner, Lighthouse Coastal Community Church, is appealing

the zoning administration’s denial of the request.

Initial approval of the temporary building expired in May.

What to expect: City officials are recommending that the issue be

postponed until Sept. 25 to give city staff members and the Planning

Commission time to visit the site while school is in session. Today is

the first day of school.

VILLA SIENNA APARTMENTS

The Planning Commission will consider a request to add compact parking

at Villa Sienna Apartments on Adams Avenue.

The apartment complex was formerly called Adams Place Apartments and

Our Town Apartments and is undergoing renovations.

Under the city’s municipal code, 46 compact spaces are allowed at the

complex, but 54 currently exist and 102 are proposed, according to a

staff report.

The apartment complex, which originally had 429 parking spaces, now

has 458. The proposal would bring that number to 481.

What to expect: City staff is recommending the commission approve the

request with a condition requiring approval of final carport designs.
