the 2300 block the evening of Sept. 2. The name of the victim was etched

on the bottom of the stolen scooter.

* Pomona Avenue: A burglar entered a house on the 2000 block and made

off with a jewelry box filled with jewelry valued at more than $6,000

while the owner was on vacation. The victim had experienced a similar

* Avenue of the Arts: A tourist at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in the

3300 block was using a pay phone for about 30 seconds the morning of

Du Monde bakery in the 100 block Friday afternoon, and when he turned

morning and found that somebody had stood on the hood and smashed in the

windshield.

* Via Oporto: A suspect punched out the window of an outside display

driver reported seeing a man running away with his hands bloodied from

the blow to the case.
