WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 20: OCC women’s volleyball team hosts Pasadena.

The Orange Coast College women’s volleyball team will look to further

improve on its 3-0 record with a nonconference matchup against visiting

Pasadena City tonight at 7 at Costa Mesa High.

The Pirates defeated a pesky Southwestern squad on Sept. 14, 15-2,

15-12, 11-15, 15-11.

Leading the way was Lauren Wilson with 23 kills and 21 digs. Kelly

McFarlane and Daylyn Kelly each had four blocks, while Jennie Holmes got

the offense going with 44 assists.

Both the OCC men’s and women’s water polo teams will compete at

Saddleback College today in Orange Empire Conference action.

The women’s squad (4-2, 0-1 in the OEC) will take on Saddleback at 3,

while the men’s team (2-2, 0-1) takes on the Gauchos at 4.

The Pirates women’s golf team (3-0 in conference) will host Cypress

and Saddleback today at noon at the Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club’s

Mesa Linda Course.

In high school action, Newport Harbor High’s girls golf team will

travel to the Santa Ana Country Club to host the first nine holes of its

match against Foothill, beginning at 3 p.m.

In girls tennis, Costa Mesa will host El Modena today at 3 in a

nonleague tilt.
