Blackhawks humming

With the majority of the goals knocked in during the first period,

the Blackhawks finished with a 4-2 victory over the Thrashers in a Norris

Division game played Wednesday at Coast to Coast Inline Hockey Center in

Huntington Beach.

The win put the Blackhawks in the division’s second place at 5-5.

Blackhawks Trevor Horton and Kyle Evans each scored a goal, as did

Kevin Lassen and Brad Giczewski who both scored had an assist. Reye

Brackett also picked up an assist, and goalie Luke Hamagiwa recorded 24

saves.

Dylan Verrastro scored once with an assist, and Alex Borcich also

scored for the Thrashers (4-4-2). Goalie Kyle Bezayiff blocked 37 shot

attempts, putting the Thrashers in the division lead for goalie saves.

* Spitfires 4, Roller Rebels 2

Brock Ane put in two goals, and Sean Easton and Daniel Ane each scored

once for the Spitfires. Jonathan Floren had two assists. Goalie David

Taylor had 19 saves for the Spitfires who have kept their division lead

at 7-1-2.

Tyler Bertrand scored twice, and goalie Kyle Steinbrick blocked 20

attempted shots for the Roller Rebels (4-5-1).

* Small Soldiers 7, Flyers 3

Cameron Weiss led the Small Soldiers with three goals. Garrett Ono and

Dylan Nelson each scored twice.

Matthew Kibler, Bryan Bennett and Christopher Powers each had one

assist, and Billy O’Gorman added two more. Goalie Brian Daigneault had 28

saves for the Small Soldiers (3-3-4).

Reed Thomas scored twice and Christian Rakhshani scored once for the

Flyers. Ross Harper had two assists, and Matthew Seroka had one assist.

Goalie Tyler Post blocked 27 shot attempts for the Flyers (3-7).

* Red Devils 8, Lightning 3

Top scorer Jared Rassler netted three goals. Steven Koressel scored

two more goals and had one assist. Sean Wing and Justin Romers each

scored one goal and both had one assist. Cole Bonanni added one goal.

Goalie D.J. Mihalik had 19 saves for the Red Devils who are still in

the division lead with 6-3-1Garrett Haar, Craig Landon and Allison

Dufault each scored once. Brett Morinaka had one assist. Goalie Kevin

Christi had 23 saves for Lightning (2-5-2).
