Waves take two

In girls Under-10 doubleheader winterball action at Cypress Park on

Saturday, the South Huntington Beach Waves emerged with two victories by

twice routing Cypress Lights Out, 10-2 and 14-1.

In the two games, 10 players helped the Waves pound out 22 hits and 21

RBI.

Sara Taylor led the team in RBI with five. Katrice Shaner contributed

four RBI and three singles, Katie Sullivan had three singles, a double,

and one RBI, Stephanie Mello singled three times with three RBI, Lorny

Freeland also singled three times with two RBI, Erica Svoboda singled

twice with two RBI, Ashlee Houston singled with two RBI, Hilary Pool

delivered two singles and an RBI, Kim Gonzales singled with an RBI, and

Danielle Delany doubled.

The Waves pitching staff off Freeland, Pool, and Sullivan, held Lights

Out to just four hits and three runs, while striking out eight in 10

innings of play.
