Women’s soccer: Nienhuis named VU’s Lion of the Week

COSTA MESA - Women’s soccer player Betsy Nienhuis was named the

Vanguard University women’s Lion of the Week for her success last week in

two Region 2 games.

Nienhuis, who had only one goal and four assists prior to last week’s

competition, scored five goals in the past two games.

She scored a career-high four goals in the Lions’ 8-0 win over The

Master’s College and added another goal in the 5-1 win over the United

States International University.

Nienhuis is currently second on the Lions’ team with six goals and

four assists this season.
