B.W. COOK -- The Look

It is sexy. It is supple. It is simply superb.

The women’s ready-to-wear collection for fall and winter from

Salvatore Ferragamo is out of this world. The design team for the House

of Ferragamo has expanded its point of view to include a younger approach

to the Italian perspective on clothing that has been its trademark.

In fact, Ferragamo has coined new terminology to describe some of the

effort. For ladies who require a fine tailored suit for business,

cultural or social needs, the collection includes the new

“allure-couture” garments.

The garments are a bit less structured, with a bit more flare in the

skirt, including a trapezoid suit skirt. There’s also a bit more fit in

the jacket. All this and fabrics that are daring, dramatic and very rich

combine to create ... allure couture.

Add accessories that are designed to match or coordinate with the

outfits -- they are calling the accessories “collectibles” -- and you are

very much a part of the Ferragamo fashion statement. From fine shoes to

handbags to scarves to belts to fashion jewelry to hats and boots and

more, it’s all a part of the very chic world of Salvatore Ferragamo.

South Coast Plaza store manager Donna Collett welcomed The Look and

our Newport Beach models Robin Sanders, the 1975 Rose Queen, and her

daughter Kimberly Christensen, a college student at Orange Coast College,

to display the collection.

with her daughter as she sports a matching wool and cashmere knitted logo

coat in cream ($1290). Sanders also shows off red and paprika bicolored

pumps known as “Suivre” ($255) with a matching red brick-colored handbag

($550). The shades are also strictly Salvatore Ferragamo from his
