* Newport Boulevard: A grand theft was reported in the 1800 block at

9:19 a.m. Wednesday.

* Newport Boulevard: A commercial burglary was reported in the 2600

block at 1:42 a.m. Wednesday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* West Coast Highway: Boat parts worth $8,700 were reported stolen

from a store in the 2200 block at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday.

* Placentia Avenue: A cat named Sammy reportedly was wounded in one

leg by a pellet gun near West 15th Street sometime Tuesday.

* Poinsettia Avenue: Utility items worth $2,600 were reported stolen

from a car near Ocean Boulevard at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.
