AYSO Region 57: Blue Devils blank Baboons
The Blue Devils, an AYSO Region 57 boys under 12 team, shut out the
Silver Baboons, 4-0, Monday.
Goals were scored by Luke Griner, Peter Frankuchen, Tyler Ellis and
Bryce Brunham with strong midfield play from Paul Bioche, Omeed Alipour,
Andrew Gartner, Parker Rhodes, Christopher Wheeler and David Grant.
In goal, Geoffrey Grant played well to preserve the shutout.
In other boys under 12 action:
Red Devils 2, Wedge 0 - Peter Broekelschen and Taylor Henderson each
scored goals for the Red Devils, while Jonathan Gormley, Trevor Gladych,
Alex Neff, Max Rollins and Spenser Singh anchored the defense.
Goalie Thomas Dialynas recorded a shutout to help the Red Devils win
their third straight.
In girls Division 5 action:
Team Tidalwaves 2, Galaxy Girls 1 - Trailing, 1-0, the Tidalwaves were
led by back-to-back goals from Alexa Rome and Rene Mycorn.
Great Tidalwaves defense was turned in by Lauren Smith, Lisa Radomski,
Elizabeth Murray, Kate Duddy, Alexa Cohen, Kelsey Larson, Athena Livadas
and Nicole Cook, while the goaltending was led by Mycorn, Rome and Kelsey
Valley.
Dream Team 3, Hot Shots 1 - Annie Rafferty, Karly Ogden and Kara
Chatham each scored for the Dream Team in their comeback win on Monday.
Leila Pozin had two assists, while Ogden had one, while on defense,
Samantha Mangione, Alex Fitch and Laura Fleming each played well for the
Dream Team. For the Hot Shots, Samantha Murray played a solid, all-around
game.
Riptide 1, Beach Babes 0 - Heather Van Hiel scored the games’ lone
goal to lift the Riptide over the Beach Babes.
The Riptide’s defense was led by Cynthia Bui, Kristen Nassif, Reiley
O’Brien and Emily and Sarah Carvelli.
The midfield was controlled by Alexis Gomez, Christina Dialynas,
Margaret Money and Adrienne Dreyfus, while goalkeeper Shari Mead kept the
Beach Babes off the scoreboard.
Teal Tigers 1, Sirens 1 - Michelle Zucker scored the game-tying goal
for the Teal Tigers in the third period off solid offensive execution
from Brittany Rovzar and Natalie Stack.
Annie King, Rovzar and Zucker stopped numerous Sirens’ shots to
preserve the tie, while the defense was led by Nicole Greene, Taylor
Best, Kristen Kenney, Katelyn Nemnich, Tori Whalen and Leyla Hezar.
The Galaxy Girls #2, in their win over the Pink All-Stars, were led by
Valen Taylor, who scored two goals and single tallies by Alex Turner and
McKenzie Brown.
MacKenzie Jones had two assists, while Katie Devarian, Victoria
Kennedy and Tori Olenda controlled the midfield for the Galaxy Girls #2.
On defense for the GG2, Leslee Kazmerek and Kelly Matthews each played
well.
In boys Division 6 action:
In the Firebolts game against the Blue Dominators, Connor Gaal scored
three goals, while Ben Greiner, Zack Morrison and Dalton Brewster each
added a goal.
For the Green Bombers, in their matchup with the Blue Blizzard, Tanner
Trauthen and Hunter Meece each scored, while Cole Chatham added an
assist. Pete Markel and Dan Steele played well in goal for the Green
Bombers, while Cameron Orr, Matt Berry, Sam Cubeiro and Alex Carlis each
had great offensive and defensive performances.
For the Fireballs, the played the Green Machine and were led by Nick
Molinaro, who scored two goals. Jack Gorab and Matthew Burt also added
goals for the Fireballs, while Logan Burkhead, Anthony Daboub, Kevin
Kitzens, Matt Larson, Gianni Multari and John Swigert controlled ball
possession.
