HB Stars shutdown Tustin, 4-0

With goalkeepers Kristin Coleman and Gena Johnson combining for a

shutout in the net, the HB Stars, a girls Under-14 Division team out of

Region 143, shut down Tustin Saturday, 4-0, in AYSO action.

Loren Kortizija and Whitney Thornton tallied two goals apiece as the

Stars improved their league record to 4-1.

Also contributing to the victory were Ashley Beanblossom, Nikki

Freiborg, Alexandra Jaspers, Ann Ludolph, Caitlin McGinnis, Lauren

Peaslee, Hilary Pohlman, Lindsey Rodgers, Lauren Swensen, and Emily Tims.

South Coast 0, ASC 0

The South Coast Pier Pressure, a Bronze team out of South Huntington

Beach, couldn’t convert its second half scoring chances and played ASC of

Anaheim to a scoreless draw.

Bashore, Erin Benton, Dana Clarke, Alex Dunn, Kelly Hyder, Jessica

Jordan, Chelsea Kaplan, Courtney Lynn, Candace Mecklenburg, Keely Miller,

BOYS

8-Balls 2, Blue Barracudas 2

This battle between two top teams ended in a tie at Peterson School in

Huntington Beach.

Joshua Ardis’ 30 yard strike gave the 8-Balls a 2-1 lead, but Cam

Harlin’s second goal of the game tied the score near the end of

regulation.

Andrew Thomas and Christian Webb led the 8-Balls defensively.

8-Balls 7, Blasters 2

Christopher Lien drilled three goals, Joshua Ardis chipped in two

more, and Schuyler Duvall and Jeffrey Cole each scored once Monday night

at Gisler School as the 8-Balls improved to 6-0-1 overall.
